Edinburgh’s
LGBT+ & Straight-Friendly
Real Ale Pub

The Regent is known for its homely atmosphere, with comfy sofas, real ales, and friendly staff. In normal times we serve lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks. Unfortunately, however, we are not currently serving food.

To book a table or room, just get in touch.

Real Ale

We love our Real Ales and are accredited by Cask Marque. The Regent is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2020, and was runner-up for Pub of the Year  in 2017.

Deuchars IPA is always on handpump plus other guest ales and real cider. We also offer a wide range of bottled beers from Edinburgh and around the world.

Our gluten-free range was increased last year. Try our chocolate wine and fruity bottled ciders too!

Once the Covid restrictions have been fully lifted we will get back to serving homely traditional Scottish food, as well as other delicious dishes (starting at £7). Choose from haggis, stovies, lasagne, mac ‘n’ cheese, curries, risotto and salads. Our specials include dishes such as butternut & lentil Wellington, pork belly, and steak & ale pasties. Finish up with one of our tasty puddings. Gluten-free and vegan options are always available, with ample choice.

Community

Enjoy one of our table-top games, or bring your own.

Look around! We host local artists’ exhibitions – some beautiful, some wacky, and always a talking point.

We host a number of LGBT+ groups, including Bear Scots (second Saturday of the month) and the Ruby Fruits (first Sunday of the month).

For now, we will not be serving food,
and we will not be allowing dogs or
anyone under 18 years old.

The rules for reopening laid down
by the Government are:
Groups of up to 6 people from a
maximum of 3 households are
allowed at the same table,
but those from different households
must sit at least 1 metre apart.

Contact details must be taken from
everyone, not just one person per group.
People are allowed a maximum of a
2-hour time slot. After that, they must
leave the premises.

The venue must close at 10.30pm, with all
customers having left by this time.

All our love, The Regent xxx

A quick note about bookings:
Although we can only accommodate a limited number of guests, we will aim to leave some tables available for those who decide to visit us on the spur of the moment. If you haven’t made a reservation, the best idea would be to give us a quick call before setting out, just to make sure we have space.
